Toenjes said the snake, which is indigenous to Nebraska, is one of several animals that may be seen by those visiting Fontenelle Forest. <\/p>\n

A walk through the forest can be a relaxing experience that could help people gain a sense of wellness, said Jayme Nekuda of the Center for Health Living. Although, Nekuda joked, an encounter with a 5-foot snake may not be very relaxing for some. <\/p>\n

Fontenelle and about 40 other groups set up booths at the event, which was attended by hundreds of medical center employees and students. The event was designed to show how various organizations provide services that can help people gain a sense of wellness, Nekuda said. <\/p>\n

“From nature exhibits to financial planners to fitness initiatives, this event showed how the idea of wellness is all encompassing in a person’s life,” Nekuda said.
