{"id":30940,"date":"2007-09-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-09-25T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2007\/09\/25\/the-puck-stops-here-hockey-101-coming-to-unmc\/"},"modified":"2007-09-25T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2007-09-25T05:00:00","slug":"the-puck-stops-here-hockey-101-coming-to-unmc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2007\/09\/25\/the-puck-stops-here-hockey-101-coming-to-unmc\/","title":{"rendered":"The puck stops here &#8212; Hockey: 101 coming to UNMC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/UNOmav907.jpg\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\" alt=\"picture disc.\">Some new instructors will be on campus next week and they won&#8217;t be teaching about health sciences.  <\/p>\n<p>A one-time class is being offered to all medical center employees and students on a different subject &#8212; hockey.  <\/p>\n<p>Members of the University of Nebraska at Omaha hockey team and coaching staff will be on campus Tuesday, Oct. 2 at noon in the Durham Research Center Auditorium to offer an inside look at the game and what being a Maverick hockey player is all about.<\/p>\n<p>The free event will give students and employees a chance to meet members of the team and learn the ins and outs of the sport.  <\/p>\n<p>The presentation will include equipment demonstrations, a highlight video, ticket information and much more.  <\/p>\n<p>Expect a high energy and informative presentation, including time for questions and answers and a prize drawing at the end.  <\/p>\n<p>If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Jill Carson at <a href=\"mailto:jlcarson@unmc.edu\">jlcarson@unmc.edu<\/a>.
