In addition, the premiums for the low option will be decreased significantly as the result of a change to the deductible and stop-loss limit in that option, which will be outlined in the NUFlex 2008 materials.<\/p>\n<p>UNMC employees should receive 2008 NUFlex benefits packets next week, Watkins said. Enrollment for 2008 university benefits will begin Monday and end at 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The deadline is right around the corner, so please enroll and\/or make your benefit changes quickly,&#8221; Watkins said.<\/p>\n<p>She urged employees to use the SAP-Employee Self Service Web site to enroll and make changes to their benefits.<\/p>\n<p><TABLE border=\"1\" width=\"250\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"10\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<font face=\"arial\"><br \/>\n<B><br \/>\nMore insurance information<br \/>\n<\/B><br \/>\n<BR><br \/>\nA story from the University of Nebraska Central Administration with more information about insurance changes has been included in today&#8217;s UNMC Today.<br \/>\n<\/P><br \/>\n<\/FONT><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE>&#8220;It&#8217;s easy to use, you can verify your information immediately and you can print off an overview of your changes,&#8221; Watkins said.<\/p>\n<p>Watkins also said enrollment is now open for UNMC dental and vision plans. Enrollment for such plans will not open again until 2010. <\/p>\n<p>She also said employees who sign up for term life insurance should be sure to note whether they are a nicotine user.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you don&#8217;t specifically complete and return the tobacco\/nicotine designation form or change your status on-line, you automatically will be flagged as a nicotine user,&#8221; Watkins said. <\/p>\n<p>Also during the forum, UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., discussed some of the campus highlights of the past few months, including the arrival of College of Pharmacy Dean Courtney Fletcher, Pharm.D., whom Dr. Maurer called &#8220;one of the best pharmacy recruits in the nation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Maurer touched on UNMC&#8217;s increased international activity in countries such as China and India &#8212; areas he said have tremendous promise in terms of developing valuable partnerships. <\/p>\n<p>Rodney Markin, M.D., Ph.D., president and CEO of UNMC Physicians, discussed the physicians group&#8217;s expansion plans, including the development of the cancer center in west Omaha. <\/p>\n<p>Deb Thomas, associate vice chancellor for business and finance, discussed the new e2 Campus system &#8212; which would alert employees and students should a catastrophic event such as a shooting or tornado happen on campus. <\/p>\n<p>Employees wanting to register for the e2 Campus system, which is voluntary, can do so by logging onto <a href=\"http:ess.unmc.edu\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">http:ess.unmc.edu<\/a>.
