preparedness issues visited UNMC on Friday to deliver the weekly internal medicine grand rounds. <\/p>\n<p>Before speaking to UNMC&#8217;s internists, Ken Staley, M.D., director of Biodefense Policy Homeland Security Council in Washington, sat down with UNMC Today to discuss pandemic preparedness, where the country stands in terms of its readiness to handle a pandemic and why it&#8217;s important to prepare at a community level. <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Staley has been in his current post for more than two years.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from delivering the grand rounds presentation, Dr. Staley also met with UNMC
