\n<\/TABLE>Suzanne Stensaas, Ph.D., of the University of Utah will discuss how annotation can help educators improve classroom effectiveness during a lecture at UNMC on Thursday, April 17 at noon in the Wittson Hall Amphitheater. <\/p>\n

Dr. Stensaas, who is a professor in the department of neurobiology and anatomy at the University of Utah, will make her points in a lecture titled “Enhancing Your Lecture, PBL or Small Groups with Annotation.” <\/p>\n

Her lecture is part of the Teaching, Learning and Technology Roundtable series, which aims to prepare UNMC faculty to use the advanced technology that will be available in the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Sciences Education. <\/p>\n

Annotation works by using a touch-sensitive display on a computer — that when connected to a digital projector — lets educators control computer applications directly from the display, write notes in digital ink and save work to share later.<\/p>\n

Dr. Stensaas will show how annotation can be used in a variety of situations to actively engage students. <\/p>\n

“Annotation has the power to truly enhance teaching in several arenas,” said UNMC Instructional Designer Melissa Diers, who also will make comments during the seminar. “Dr. Stensaas will present ideas and methods that many UNMC educators should find useful.” <\/p>\n
