\n<\/TABLE>The fourth annual SHARING the Trail 5K run\/walk took place on April 5 at Miller’s Landing Park to benefit the student-run SHARING Clinics at UNMC. <\/p>\n

During the event, more than 200 people ran or walked the scenic course along the Missouri River and traversed through Omaha’s Heartland of America Park. <\/p>\n

Participants had a wonderful time with the starting gun of the race substituted for a professional bagpipe player and a number of runners dressing up in costumes including 1980s gear, pirate attire and tutus. <\/p>\n

The SHARING board was thrilled at the success of the event and hopes it helped spread understanding about the UNMC SHARING Clinics, which need support from student and physician volunteers, as well as the financial support of events such as SHARING the Trail. <\/p>\n

The event received support from sponsors including UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center, Midwest Expressions, Peak Performance, Hy-Vee and Bruegger’s Bagels.<\/p>\n

The SHARING Clinics are a nationally recognized group of three clinics that serve the underprivileged of Omaha at little or no cost. Founded in 1997, the SHARING Clinics have grown to comprise three clinics:
