\n<\/TABLE>The second annual Babcook Family Research Fund Cycling Tour will be held Sunday starting at 8:30 a.m. <\/p>\n

The ride is a fun bicycle jaunt from downtown Omaha to Boyer Chute and back. <\/p>\n

Tour proceeds will benefit the Babcook Family Research Fund, which raises money and awareness for pancreatic cancer research at the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center. <\/p>\n

Dave Babcook was a cyclist and research associate at the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center who raced competitively before being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1998. <\/p>\n

He underwent treatment at UNMC but lost his battle with the disease in 2000. His family established the Babcook Family Research Fund in his memory. The fund is managed by the University of Nebraska Foundation. <\/p>\n

Registration can be completed in person from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on the day of the ride at 19th and Howard streets. <\/p>\n

The $20 entry fee includes secondary insurance from USA Cycling. There will be drinks and fruit at the turn around points. A van operated by Bike Masters Cycling and Fitness will provide mechanical assistance on the route and experienced riders from Team Kaos will be leading and riding with your group to ensure a safe and fun ride. Bicycle helmets are required on the tour. <\/p>\n

The ride will conclude on 20th Street by the Children’s Museum. <\/p>\n
