\n<\/TABLE>UNMC faculty, staff and students are invited to bring their lunches to the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education on Oct. 27 to enjoy Nebraska Shakespeare’s 2008 touring production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” <\/p>\n

The 65-minute performance has toured middle and high schools throughout Nebraska and western Iowa, including the cities of Omaha, Lincoln, Papillion, Albion, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Kearney.<\/p>\n

“One of the goals of Nebraska Shakespeare is to introduce or re-introduce audiences to the great works of William Shakespeare, and we’re happy to be a host to this performance,” said John Gollan, M.D., Ph.D., dean of the College of Medicine and a Nebraska Shakespeare board member. “This should be a truly terrific performance, and in a great venue, the Truhlsen Events Center in the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education.”<\/p>\n

In “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” the character Oberon, in order to trick Titania into handing over an Indian boy she is raising, orders Puck to find a plant that causes love at first sight. Through Oberon’s meddling and Puck’s trickery, the characters fall into and out of love with the wrong people. <\/p>\n

“We’re proud to have the Nebraska Shakespeare troupe on campus to offer ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream,’ ” said Don Leuenberger, vice chancellor for business and finance. “This is one of Shakespeare’s best-known comedies and should be fun for our faculty and staff.”<\/p>\n

The Nebraska Shakespeare production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” begins at noon inside the Truhlsen Events Center. Directed by Brandon Higdem, the production features Sarah Carlson-Brown, Vincent Carlson-Brown, Elizabeth Kendall, Melanie Gillis, KJ Misek, Darrick Silkman and Ashley Spessard.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
