During Innovation Week 2008, which was Oct. 20-24, UNeMed offered two opportunities for faculty, staff and students to win iPods. <\/p>\n

The first chance to win came for those who took part in a campus-wide survey to determine the awareness of UNeMed and the technology transfer process. <\/p>\n

Employees also had a chance to win iPods if they attended Oct. 24 open houses at UNeMed’s main office in Annex 14 and\/or its satellite office in the Durham Research Center, Room 1007, where UNeMed personnel are on hand daily to meet with medical center researchers about licensing and marketing issues. <\/p>\n

Winners were randomly chosen on Friday, Oct. 31. <\/p>\n

Dr. Huang won for participating in the survey and Deng was the winner among those who attended the open houses. <\/p>\n

Sara Conrad, licensing associate for UNeMed, thanked the campus for participating in the survey. <\/p>\n

“We were very pleased with the response to the surveys and look forward to implementing a lot of the suggestions,” she said.<\/p>\n

Michael Dixon, Ph.D., vice president and chief operating officer of UNeMed, congratulated the iPod winners and said he was impressed by the turnout for the open houses. <\/p>\n

“The response to our open house was fantastic,” Dr. Dixon said. “We are excited to have a presence in the DRC and look forward to making our services even more accessible to the research community.” <\/p>\n
