\n<\/TABLE>During the monthly Clinical and Translational Research (CTR) seminar today at noon in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater, Warren Sanger, Ph.D., director of the Munroe-Meyer Institute Human Genetics Laboratory, will discuss how his lab can be a resource to UNMC researchers. <\/p>\n

During its 33 years in operation, the lab has aided countless researchers with their investigations. But many of those scientists, Dr. Sanger said, were not from UNMC. <\/p>\n

“While we do a lot of work with outside institutions, all things being the same, we’d prefer to help UNMC researchers instead,” said Dr. Sanger, who also is a professor in the departments of pediatrics and pathology and microbiology. <\/p>\n

Dr. Sanger founded the laboratory and has seen its staff grow from two to nearly 80 people. <\/p>\n

While primarily a clinical diagnostic laboratory for the Midwestern region, the lab also could be a valuable resource for researchers whose work has a human genetics component. <\/p>\n

Dr. Sanger’s lecture is part of an ongoing series of CTR seminars that are typically held on the third Monday of each month. <\/p>\n

The series brings clinical and basic science investigators from across the university together to identify new ways to collaborate and answer important clinical questions. <\/p>\n

The seminar will be recorded and available for investigators who cannot attend. <\/p>\n
