\/>\n<\/TABLE>The Nebraska Chapter of the March of Dimes and Children&#8217;s Hospital recently presented Excellence in Nursing awards to 65 Nebraska nurses for their dedication to the nursing profession and quality patient outcomes. <\/p>\n<p>Nurses were nominated by individuals who wished to recognize a nurse for their outstanding contributions.   <\/p>\n<p>Included among the nurses who received awards were:<br \/>\n<UL><LI>Janice Twiss, Ph.D., an associate professor in the UNMC College of Nursing; and<br \/>\n<LI>Joyce Hall, Victoria Halley and Cindy Mathiasen of UNMC&#8217;s hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>Miranda Brannon of the UNMC College of Nursing in Omaha was among three graduating nursing students who also were honored by the March of Dimes. <\/p>\n<p>The students &#8212; who each attended a baccalaureate nursing program in Nebraska &#8212; were honored for their academic excellence, outstanding neonatal and\/or pediatric patient care to premature and\/or low birth weight infants and children, inclusion of families in patient care, provision of extraordinary care and compassion, contribution to the positive image of the
