{"id":33687,"date":"2009-01-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-01-08T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2009\/01\/08\/hrs-spring-lunch-and-learn-series-focused-on-conflict-management\/"},"modified":"2009-01-08T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2009-01-08T06:00:00","slug":"hrs-spring-lunch-and-learn-series-focused-on-conflict-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2009\/01\/08\/hrs-spring-lunch-and-learn-series-focused-on-conflict-management\/","title":{"rendered":"HR&#8217;s Spring lunch and learn series focused on conflict management"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p><I>(EDITOR&#8217;S NOTE: The following is from UNMC Human Resources.<\/I><\/p>\n<p>At some point in their careers, most professionals experience conflict in the workplace that creates a noticeable level of tension.  <\/p>\n<p>They are left wondering whether to ignore the conflict and how to break through the resulting roadblocks.  <\/p>\n<p>UNMC Human Resources&#8217; Spring Lunch and Learn Series, which kicks off on Feb. 11, will address various methods of handling such situations.    <\/p>\n<p>The first session, &#8220;Conflict Considerations,&#8221; will start at 11:30 a.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium.  <\/p>\n<p>During this session, participants will explore what to do with conflict when it surfaces. Participants will look at various alternatives, consequences and questions to consider, long before taking action.  <\/p>\n<p>The speaker for this session will be Gretchen Finke Patras, president of GFP &amp; Company, Inc. <\/p>\n<p>Subsequent lunch and learn sessions include:<br \/>\n<UL><LI>March 3 &#8212; Dealing with Difficult Conversations, College of Nursing &#8212; Cooper Auditorium, Rooms 1011\/1012;<br \/>\n<LI>April 15 &#8212; Keeping your Cool under Conflict, College of Nursing &#8212; Cooper Auditorium, Rooms 1011\/1012; and<br \/>\n<LI>May 13 &#8212; Playing the Trigger Card, location TBD.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>A sandwich, soda and chips will be provided to participants at each session. <\/p>\n<p>Preregistration is required and can be completed by <a href=\"https:\/\/unebapps01.nebraska.edu\/uwide\/trnreg.nsf\/unmcclass?OpenForm&amp;Start=1&amp;Count=50&amp;Collapse=3&amp;Seq=5\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">clicking here<\/a> or by visiting
