It will be Steinbrink’s first Boston Marathon and his second marathon overall.<\/p>\n

\nThis is a reminder that medical center employees are welcome to stop by the Center for Healthy Living for free Thursday and Friday to ride UNMC Expresso bicycles as part of a corporate competition sponsored by the Wellness Council of the Midlands (WELCOM) and Nova Health and Fitness Company.<\/p>\n

The competition pits UNMC against other Omaha area businesses in a contest to see who can log the most miles on Expresso exercise bicycles.<\/p>\n

UNMC has two Expresso bikes in the Center for Healthy Living. They are computerized exercise bikes that provide simulated routes for riders to travel while they work out. Employees also are welcome to try out the center’s other features during the two-day event. <\/p>\n

Employees can participate during the center’s normal hours, which are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on both days.

\n<\/TABLE>He ran in Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth, Minn., last June to qualify for Boston.<\/p>\n

But this isn’t a story about Steinbrink because, as he said, “I’m not the only one on campus whose running in Boston.”<\/p>\n

This is more a call to all the UNMC runners who are headed to Boston for the world’s oldest marathon.<\/p>\n

If you’re such a person, and I know there are several marathoners on campus, let us know and we’ll let the UNMC community know. <\/p>\n
