I consider receiving this award to be one of the major highlights of my career. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am thankful for the opportunities I have been offered and plan to continue to contribute to the field of blood and marrow transplantation in the future.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p>Schmit-Pokorny received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from Creighton University in Omaha, and her master of science in nursing degree from UNMC.<\/p>\n<p>She is an active member of ONS, the Metro Omaha Chapter of ONS, and the ONS Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Transplant Special Interest Group. She also is a member of the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.<\/p>\n<p>The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) is a professional organization of more than 37,000 registered nurses and other health care professionals committed to excellence in oncology nursing and to leading the transformation of cancer care by initiating and actively supporting educational, legislative, and public awareness efforts to improve the care of people with cancer. <\/p>\n<p>ONS provides nurses and health care professionals with
