children of all ages in Gering, Neb., earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>More than 150 children received dental care at the Panhandle Community Health Center during the week-long rotation, said Fouad Salama, B.D.S., a professor at the UNMC Pediatric Dental Clinic in Omaha.<\/p>\n<p>Along with Dr. Salama, two dental assistants, Raquel Porter and Kathren Tippin, from the pediatric dental clinic accompanied the eight residents, who were:<br \/>\n<UL><LI>John Cho, D.D.S.,<br \/>\n<LI>Amy Kebriaei, D.D.S.,<br \/>\n<LI>Brandi Roeber, D.D.S.,<br \/>\n<LI>Nicholas Woodward, D.D.S.,<br \/>\n<LI>Kerin Burdette, D.D.S.,<br \/>\n<LI>Lindsey Christian, D.D.S.,<br \/>\n<LI>Cherie Uchida, D.D.S., and<br \/>\n<LI>Renee Uchida, D.D.S. <\/UL><\/p>\n<p>The rotation allowed the residents to experience the great need for dentistry in a rural community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Not only did this time allow for the pediatric dental residents to provide their expertise for the community health clinic, it allowed many of the residents to see western Nebraska for the first time,&#8221; Dr. Renee Uchida said.<\/p>\n<p>With the help of one of the residents, a patient was entered into a beauty pageant and other residents were featured in the local newspaper, Dr. Christian said.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eight UNMC pediatric dental residents provided
