the wellness and preventative services benefit"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/WellnessWednesday.jpg\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\" alt=\"picture disc.\"><I>(EDITOR&#8217;S NOTE: The following is a note from UNMC Employee Benefits and Work-Life Programs.) <\/I><\/p>\n<p>Each UNMC employee with Blue Cross and Blue Shield coverage through UNMC (spouse and dependents if family coverage option is chosen) has a $250 &#8220;Wellness and Preventative Services&#8221; benefit annually.<\/p>\n<p>The benefit can be used to cover preventative care such as annual physicals, shingles vaccinations and other vaccinations and preventive screenings.  <\/p>\n<p>This is an annual benefit that pays a maximum of $250 per calendar year.  <\/p>\n<p>If the cost of the preventative service exceeds $250, employees will be responsible to pay this out-of-pocket expense and it will not be applied toward the deductible\/stop loss unless there is a resulting diagnosis.   <\/p>\n<p>If that is the case, this visit is no longer considered a &#8220;Healthy U Physical&#8221; and instead is considered a regular office visit that is subject to the deductible and co-insurance.<\/p>\n<p><B>Wellness &#038; Preventative Services benefit<\/B><\/p>\n<p><UL><LI>The Wellness and Preventative Services benefit of $250 is available to all UNMC employees and their covered dependents who are enrolled in our Blue Cross Blue Shield medical plan, regardless of where their physician practices.<br \/>\n<LI>If you schedule your annual &#8220;Healthy U Physical&#8221; with a UNMC physician (family practice, internal medicine, pediatrician,or obstetrician\/gynecologist &#8211; visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unmcphysicians.com\/v2\/\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.unmcphysicians.com\/v2\/<\/a> to find a UNMC Physician) the cost of an annual physical with certain labs has been worked out not to exceed $250.<br \/>\n<LI>If additional tests are conducted then the amount above $250 will be an out-of-pocket expense and not applied toward your deductible.<br \/>\n<LI>For a form, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/info.unmc.edu\/healthyu\/\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/info.unmc.edu\/healthyu\/<\/a>.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p><B>Well-Child Care benefit<\/B><br \/>\n<UL><LI>Children age one and under are covered at 100 percent, not to exceed $500 per calendar year;<br \/>\n<LI>Children age two and over are covered at 100 percent not to exceed $250 per calendar year;
