\n<\/TABLE>A Request for Proposal (RFP) will soon be sent to Omaha-area graphic designers and photographers, as part of the plan to improve business efficiencies and to ensure that the branding of UNMC is consistent across campus colleges, departments, institutes and other units. <\/p>\n

“By having preferred and exclusive vendors on campus for these services, the graphic look and feel of all of our materials will be of the same family. This is in sharp contrast to what is now being produced, which tend to be graphically dissimilar to one another and of varying quality,” said Renee Fry, J.D., director of public relations. “The professional look will make all of our materials more easily recognizable and symbiotic in nature.”<\/p>\n

A group representing various areas of campus will review the proposals and make the selection of preferred vendors that campus groups can use for design and photography services. <\/p>\n

Deb Thomas, assistant vice chancellor for business and finance, said that UNMC Printing Services will continue to provide graphic services to customers and will coordinate all printing done by campus units. <\/p>\n

\n<\/TABLE>Printing services, other UNMC employees, and the selected graphic design and photography vendors will be expected to follow the graphic standards within a brand book that is being produced in conjunction with UNMC’s secondary icon and brand platform. The revealing of the new look is scheduled for Aug. 13. <\/p>\n

“Our campus spent hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past year in graphic design and photography services,” Thomas said. “We think that by having several preferred vendors in these categories, we can achieve greater business efficiencies while maintaining the high standards of the new branding guidelines. It will be a benefit on many fronts.”<\/p>\n
