{"id":34857,"date":"2009-07-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-07-16T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2009\/07\/16\/unemed-to-again-give-10000-research-award\/"},"modified":"2009-07-16T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2009-07-16T05:00:00","slug":"unemed-to-again-give-10000-research-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2009\/07\/16\/unemed-to-again-give-10000-research-award\/","title":{"rendered":"UNeMed to again give $10,000 research award"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/unemed08.jpg\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\" alt=\"picture disc.\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unemed.com\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">UNeMed Corporation<\/a>, the technology transfer leader for UNMC, is gearing up for their annual Innovation Week.  <\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s festivities will take place Sept. 28 through Oct. 2, with various special events each day.  <\/p>\n<p>UNeMed once again will award $10,000 in unrestricted research funds to the inventor or group of inventors who submit the most promising invention.<\/p>\n<p><TABLE border=\"0\" width=\"260\" cellspacing=\"5\" cellpadding=\"3\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<TABLE border=\"1\" width=\"250\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"5\" bgcolor=\"f7efa4\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<font face=\"arial\"><br \/>\n<B><br \/>\nTo apply<br \/>\n<\/B><br \/>\n<BR><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<font face=\"arial\" size=\"2\"><\/p>\n<p>To be considered for the funding, submit a completed New Invention Notification (NIN) form, which can be found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unemed.com\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">UNeMed Web site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The $10,000 research award will be announced and presented at the Innovation Awards on Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium.  Contact UNeMed at 559-2468 or <a href=\"mailto:unemed@unmc.com\">unemed@unmc.com<\/a> for more information.<br \/>\n<\/P><br \/>\n<\/FONT><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE>Fully completed New Invention Notifications (NIN) submitted to UNeMed between July 1 and Sept. 18 will be evaluated and considered for the grant. <\/p>\n<p>NINs with potential benefits to the public good as well as the patent and market potentials will all be considered. All UNMC faculty, students and staff are eligible.  <\/p>\n<p>The award was introduced in 2008 to promote the disclosure of new inventions to UNeMed.  <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are many good ideas floating around campus and it&#8217;s our goal to help faculty, students and staff develop those ideas into products that reach the marketplace,&#8221; said Michael Dixon, Ph.D., president of UNemed.<\/p>\n<p>Two awards where given in 2008.
