While students in two School of Allied Health Professions programs celebrated milestones in distinct ways, the purpose was the same: To focus on the professionalism of the careers they had chosen.<\/p>\n

In all, 87 SAHP physician assistant and Radiation Science Technology Education (RSTE) students respectively participated in recent white coat and pinning ceremonies.<\/p>\n

\n<\/TABLE>The physician assistant program welcomed 42 students during the Sept. 9 white coat ceremony at the Sorrell Center. <\/p>\n

Physician assistant alumni purchased the white coats for the students in the 28-month program. <\/p>\n

Following the student oath, Risa Zimmerman, a physician assistant at The Lied Transplant Center and 1992 graduate, gave the keynote address.<\/p>\n

The RSTE division, meanwhile, welcomed 45 new students during a Sept. 13 pinning ceremony. The RSTE students from the Omaha, Grand Island, Scottsbluff and Columbus campuses participate in the CT\/MRI, diagnostic medical sonography, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy and radiography programs. <\/p>\n

During the ceremony, SAHP Associate Dean Kyle Meyer, Ph.D., and RSTE graduate Leah Hadden made presentations followed by the student oath and the presentation of pins, which symbolize the highest principles of respect, competency, service and integrity.<\/p>\nHly Ykl OFuDoKNHFBhwN bwQ JFmL<\/a><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
