Louis Meyer Rehabilitation Foundation, sponsor of the Walk and Roll for Disabilities, has organized the second annual Denim for Disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Starting today and ending Feb. 5, departments at UNMC may select one or more days when employees can purchase a &#8220;Denim for Disabilities&#8221; sticker for a minimum donation of $1 and wear denim for the day. Those who already have a designated casual dress day can celebrate it by donating $1 and wearing the sticker.<\/p>\n<p><TABLE border=\"0\" width=\"260\" cellspacing=\"5\" cellpadding=\"3\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<TABLE border=\"1\" width=\"250\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"5\" bgcolor=\"B1D1E2\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<font face=\"arial\"><br \/>\n<B><br \/>\nWhy participate in Denim for Disabilities?<br \/>\n<\/B><br \/>\n<BR><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<font face=\"arial\" size=\"2\"><br \/>\n<UL><LI>It&#8217;s fun and easy to organize. Simply ask people to wear jeans and make a donation.<br \/>\n<LI>It will promote teamwork on a shared goal.<br \/>\n<LI>You can be a secret sponsor for someone else to wear denim.<br \/>\n<LI>It&#8217;s fun, but won&#8217;t disrupt the work day.<br \/>\n<LI>It builds your organization&#8217;s profile as a community partner.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>If you unable to participate in Denim for Disabilities, please consider making a donation to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstgiving.com\/walkandroll\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">Walk and Roll online<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/P><br \/>\n<\/FONT><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE>&#8220;Groups of all sizes are welcome to participate,&#8221; said Jan Leuenberger, president of the C. Louis Meyer Rehabilitation Foundation. &#8220;Each participating organization will be recognized at the 2010 Walk and Roll event.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The recreation therapy programs at MMI provide safe recreational and leisure activities for children and adults with disabilities. More than 500 families benefit from these services each year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The recreation therapy department at MMI receives no designated state or federal funding, so the support of various endowments, foundations and people make it possible to provide these services to families,&#8221; said Michael Crawford, Re.D., director of recreational therapy at MMI.<\/p>\n<p>All Denim for Disabilites donations will go toward recreational events, such as dances and bike rides, for adults with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>To set up a Denim for Disabilities day in your department or to obtain
