Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series presentations:<br \/>\n<UL><LI>Thursday, March 11 &#8212; (Women&#8217;s History Month) Bobbi Asubel will present <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thattakesovaries.org\/htmls\/homepage.html\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;That Takes Ovaries &#8211; Celebrating gutsy women around the globe-because courage is contagious&#8221;<\/a> at noon in the Sorrell Center&#8217;s Truhlsen Events Center;<br \/>\n<LI> Thursday, May 13 &#8212; UNMC&#8217;s Chandra Are, M.D., will present &#8220;Welcome to BOLLYWOOD&#8221; at noon in the Durham Research Center Auditorium; and<br \/>\n<LI>Friday, June 18 &#8212; UNMC&#8217;s Culture Fest &#8212; a world music, food and art festival &#8212; will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sorrell Center Student Plaza.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>Contact Linda Cunningham at 559-7394 for more information.<br \/>\n<\/P><br \/>\n<\/FONT><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE>The UNMC Employee Diversity Network and UNMC Human Resources will co-sponsor the 2010 Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series, which begins with two events this month in celebration of February as Black History Month. <\/p>\n<p>The series, which will run from February to June, will feature scholarly lectures and presentations that address contemporary issues of diversity and cultural performances that highlight the diverse cultures present in our community. <\/p>\n<p>The goal of the series is to encourage discussions and serve as a tool to inform faculty, staff and students about different perspectives, cultures and social issues. <\/p>\n<p>All programs are free of charge and free lunch is provided to the first 40 attendees.<\/p>\n<p>The February events are as scheduled:<br \/>\n<UL><LI>Wednesday, Feb. 17  &#8212; Joseph White, Ph.D., will present &#8220;Surviving and Thriving: Major Psychological Strengths in the African American Way of Being&#8221; at noon in the Durham Research Center Auditorium; and<br \/>\n<LI>Thursday, Feb. 25 &#8212; Love&#8217;s Jazz and Arts Center will present a spoken word performance at noon in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.<\/UL><\/p>\n<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"\/secure-location.php\" style=\"display: none;\" title=\"Sxn a  \"><!-- Sxn a
