He focuses primarily on pharmacotherapies, both alone and in combination with psychotherapy. <\/p>\n<p>He and his team were part of the largest National Institutes of Health-funded clinical trial on adolescence depression. The study helped define current treatment guidelines for clinically depressed adolescents.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kratochvil also helped develop atomoxetine (Strattera), a non-stimulant medicine approved to treat attention-deficit\/hyperactivity disorder. He was involved beginning with the first multisite clinical trial, conducted numerous subsequent trials and consulted with the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly that created the drug.<\/p>\n<p><TABLE border=\"0\" width=\"260\" cellspacing=\"5\" cellpadding=\"3\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<TABLE border=\"1\" width=\"250\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"5\" bgcolor=\"EAE4A9\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<font face=\"arial\"><br \/>\n<B><br \/>\nDr. Kratochvil&#8217;s file <\/B><br \/>\n<BR><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<font face=\"arial\" size=\"2\"><br \/>\n<B>Hometown:<\/B> Pender, Neb.<\/p>\n<p><B>Medical degree:<\/B> Creighton University, 1992<\/p>\n<p><B>Residency: <\/B> Duke University Medical Center, child and adolescent psychiatry. <\/p>\n<p><B>Joined UNMC: <\/B> 1999<br \/>\n<\/P><br \/>\n<\/FONT><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE>In his new positions of assistant vice chancellor for clinical research and chief medical officer of UNeHealth Corporation, Dr. Kratochvil will assist other investigators at UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center to expand clinical research. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The researchers here do amazing work, and our reputation has helped poise us to expand even further in the arena of medical research,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Jim Linder, M.D., chief executive officer of UNeMed Corporation and professor of pathology and microbiology, led the search committee that picked Dr. Kratochvil for the position. He said Dr. Kratochvil is ideally qualified to lead this clinical research initiative.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He has a broad experience as a funded clinical researcher, administrative leader and collaborator
