{"id":36213,"date":"2010-03-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-03-16T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2010\/03\/16\/survey-to-help-optimize-library-for-researchers\/"},"modified":"2010-03-16T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2010-03-16T05:00:00","slug":"survey-to-help-optimize-library-for-researchers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2010\/03\/16\/survey-to-help-optimize-library-for-researchers\/","title":{"rendered":"Survey to help optimize library for researchers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>UNMC faculty, post-docs and graduate students have been invited to<br \/>\ncomplete an online survey regarding their use of the McGoogan Library of Medicine. <\/p>\n<p>Libraries of medicine play a key role in the administration of biomedical resources and services, and through the survey UNMC looks to learn how best to meet the needs of the medical center research community. <\/p>\n<p><TABLE border=\"0\" width=\"250\" cellspacing=\"10\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Library310.jpg\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\" alt=\"picture disc.\"><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:7pt; line-height:150%;\">Through a survey to faculty, post-docs and graduate students, the McGoogan Library of Medicine and the vice chancellor for research office will look to see how the library can best suit UNMC investigators.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE>&#8220;The continuing health and growth of the UNMC research enterprise is facilitated by our scientists having electronic access to the highest possible number of scientific journals in support of their work&#8221;, said Tom Rosenquist, Ph.D., vice chancellor for research.<\/p>\n<p>The survey will remain open only through March 24, so it&#8217;s important that invitees respond promptly in order to ensure representation from all units.  <\/p>\n<p>Survey results will be used to make better informed decisions about the investment of institutional resources in the McGoogan Library for the benefit of the research community.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, focus groups will be held to provide further insight. This information will give librarians and administrators a better understanding of how the research community uses the library, especially electronic journals.
