Steinke annually serves as a judge at the fair.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE>The following is a list of recent achievements, activities and happenings involving UNMC staff, faculty and students:<\/p>\n<p><UL><LI><B>Laurey Steinke, Ph.D.<\/B>, assistant professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, and postdoctoral research fellow <B>Rory Shalloch, Ph.D.<\/B>, recently served as judges during the Plattsmouth Middle School Science Fair. Dr. Steinke annually serves as a judge in the fair. <\/p>\n<p><LI><B>Ayman El-Mohandes, M.B.B.Ch., M.D., M.P.H.<\/B>, dean of UNMC&#8217;s College of Public Health, <B>Carl Smith, M.D.<\/B>,  medical director of the Olson Center for Women&#8217;s Heath and professor and chairman of the UNMC department of obstetrics and gynecology and <B>Anita Jaynes<\/B>, UNMC nurse\/midwife,  traveled to Indonesian to focus on improving the quality of hospital care available to mothers and infants.  <\/p>\n<p><LI><B>Susan Beidler, Ph.D.<\/B>, associate professor in the College of Nursing, will be inducted as a fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners on June 23 during the academy&#8217;s 25th national conference in Phoenix. Fellows are nurse practitioner leaders who have made outstanding contributions to health care through clinical practice, research, education, or policy.<\/UL>
