Four standout members of the Omaha Symphony will perform during the Music as Medicine Concert on Thursday. <\/p>\n

Concertmaster Amy Sims will be on violin, Thomas Kluge will play viola, Paul Ledwon will play cello and Alexandra Rock will be on oboe as the quartet performs at noon in the Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium. <\/p>\n

\n<\/TABLE>“Music as Medicine is enormously privileged to present these four spectacular musicians,” said John Benson, M.D., professor of internal medicine. “They are the very best in Nebraska.” <\/p>\n

Sims has been the symphony’s concertmaster for nine years and she leads performances that range from large-scale symphonies to chamber orchestras and solo presentations. <\/p>\n

Kluge is the principal violist of the Omaha Symphony and also an active chamber music player, recitalist and soloist. <\/p>\n

Ledwon is the symphony’s principal cellist and he has performed chamber music concerts in the U.S., Europe and Japan with members of the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic and Boston Symphony Orchestras.<\/p>\n

Rock has appeared as soloist with the Omaha Symphony on several occasions and she is a featured soloist on “Stardust,” an award-winning CD of lullabies for children by Cher and Gene Klosner. <\/p>\n<\/a><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
