author, talk about her new book and how she used social media to market it. <\/p>\n<p>The book comically recounts Townley&#8217;s &#8220;nerdy&#8221; life experiences leading up to her 30th birthday. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When I turned 30 a few years back, I closely examined my life and marveled at the sheer number of unusual experiences I had experienced,&#8221; Townley said. &#8220;There was one common thread woven through all of these events: how awkward I felt.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><TABLE border=\"0\" width=\"260\" cellspacing=\"5\" cellpadding=\"3\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<TABLE border=\"1\" width=\"250\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"5\" bgcolor=\"B1D1E2\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<font face=\"arial\"><br \/>\n<B><br \/>\nRSVPs and other &#8216;nerdy&#8217; and<br \/>\n<LI>Finding her voice as a writer. <\/UL><\/p>\n<p>An Omaha native, Townley earned a bachelor&#8217;s degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and has worked as a newspaper reporter and freelance magazine writer for more than 10 years. &#8220;Nerdy Thirty&#8221;
