This week, we will feature their responses.<\/p>\n

We start with Mike Simmonds of Simmonds Restaurant Management. Simmonds and his wife, Lin, will receive the Margre and Chuck Durham Spirit of Nebraska Award on Tuesday night at the Ambassador of Hope Award Ceremony for their efforts to battle cancer.<\/p>\n

“Disease attempts to destroy life! I have dealt with it personally and through family and friends. Once we are attacked, the hope for a cure becomes one of our greatest motivators to go on fighting. Medical research absolutely correlates to living or dying. We must apply more financial resources to this fight. I firmly believe that today’s medical research is tomorrow’s cure.
