{"id":37376,"date":"2010-11-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-11-12T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2010\/11\/12\/unmc-for-the-record-36\/"},"modified":"2022-09-02T20:34:12","modified_gmt":"2022-09-03T01:34:12","slug":"unmc-for-the-record-36","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2010\/11\/12\/unmc-for-the-record-36\/","title":{"rendered":"UNMC for the record"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>Below is a list of achievements, activities and happenings involving UNMC staff, faculty and students.<\/p>\n<p><TABLE border=\"0\" width=\"150\" cellspacing=\"10\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Zimmerman1110.jpg\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\" alt=\"picture disc.\"><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:7pt; line-height:150%;\">Matthew Zimmerman, Ph.D.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE><B>UNMC Security<\/B> will host a service today at 2:30 p.m. in the &#8216;Caregiver&#8217;s Plaza&#8217; to donate a memorial stone in honor of longtime medical center security guard <B>Clarence Titsworth,<\/B> who died earlier this year. <\/p>\n<p><B>Andrea McMullen,<\/B> a second-year medical student, recently finished the New York City Marathon and raised $3,980 for the Alzheimer&#8217;s Association in the process. McMullen &#8212; who had people sponsor her run &#8212; finished the race in four hours, 21 minutes and 38 seconds. Her time was nearly an hour faster than that Jared guy from Subway. <\/p>\n<p><B>CityMatCH,<\/B> a national public health organization housed within the UNMC Department of Pediatrics, received the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) Director&#8217;s Award. The award recognizes contributions made to improve the health and well-being of urban women, children and families by strengthening the public health organizations and leaders in their communities.<\/p>\n<p><B>Matthew Zimmerman, Ph.D.,<\/B> assistant professor in the department of cellular and integrative physiology received the Harry Goldblatt New Investigator Award from the Council on High Blood Pressure Research of the American Heart Association.
