A national firm will assist a 17-person UNMC committee in the search for a new dean of the College of Nursing. <\/p>\n

\n<\/TABLE>The committee, led by Jim Linder, M.D., professor of pathology and executive director of UNeMed, and the firm, Korn\/Ferry International, will soon start the national search to replace Virginia Tilden, D.N.Sc.<\/p>\n

Dr. Tilden will retire in June. She has been nursing dean for the past seven years and has been in health care education for 36 years. <\/p>\n

“The College of Nursing gained tremendous momentum under Dr. Tilden and the committee will work to ensure the next dean will be able to step in and see that the momentum continues,” said UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D.<\/p>\n
