This year’s University Hospital Auxiliary Kaleidoscope event will support the new Clinical Research Center at UNMC’s hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center. <\/p>\n

What:<\/B> The event — this year titled “An International Affair, Advancing Science for a Global Purpose” — is an annual, philanthropic event. <\/p>\n

Who:<\/B> Howard Gendelman, M.D., chairman of the department of pharmacology and experimental neurosciences, and his wife, Bonnie Bloch, M.D., are chairs for the event and James Armitage, M.D., professor of internal medicine in the Department of Oncology\/Hematology at UNMC, will be honored for his community and world contributions.<\/p>\n

Why:<\/B> Clinical research is at the core missions for both UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center. It applies the knowledge gained from basic science research to human studies so that patients may benefit from new treatments.
