    Describe your research in laymen’s terms. <\/B> <\/p>\n

    My research is focused on understanding how HIV and its proteins can synergize with drugs of abuse to cause more severe damage in the brain<\/p>\n

    How does your research contribute to science and\/or health care?<\/B><\/p>\n

    My research will help understand the molecular pathways of neuronal toxicity, thus leading to the development of therapies targeting specific checkpoints of the pathway. <\/p>\n

    Name someone at UNMC who provides vital contributions to your success and briefly describe how they help you. <\/B> <\/p>\n

    Under the guidance of Dr. Shilpa Buch, I started climbing my academic research career. From her, I learned how to manage the lab as a great team. I learned how to be a good human being in addition to being a good scientist and also learned how to accept manuscript\/grant rejections. She taught me how to work hard and play hard. Of course, I also owe my success to the members of our lab.<\/p>\n

    • I got first place in a 100-meter running test.

    • I like swimming, which makes one feel fresh after whole day’s lab work.
