At tonight’s Lincoln Science Cafe<\/a>, Karen McGivney-Liechti, a certified nurse midwife with Heart and Hands Womancare at the People’s Health Center, and Barbara Sittner, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the UNMC College of Nursing, will discuss the role of nurse midwives in healthy pregnancies. <\/p>\n

When:<\/B> 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Where:<\/B> red9, 9th and M streets, Lincoln<\/p>\n

What:<\/B> The discussion will focus on the The CenteringPregnancy\u00ae model program, which is associated with a lower incidence of low birth weight babies and preterm births as well as higher breastfeeding rates. <\/p>\n

About Science Cafe:<\/B> Science Cafe is a free educational event sponsored by UNMC and other groups to increase science literacy.
