    What is your best memory from your time at UNMC?<\/B><\/p>\n

    My best memory is from when I was awarded the Most Valuable Employee Award in December 1997. I was totally shocked. The girls even gave me a tiara, banner and made me feel really welcome and needed. The Silver ‘U’ also was a surprise and I wear my blue shirt proudly. It was an honor to receive knowing that my peers were the ones who chose me.<\/p>\n

    Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC. <\/B><\/p>\n

    As an intake coordinator in the department of psychiatry, I love being a trusted resource. I take information from the individual or family member, assess the urgency and make sure they get to the appropriate provider. One time I received a thank you note from a lady saying I was her “angel without wings on earth” that day. It makes me feel good to make a difference in getting patients the help they need. <\/p>\n

    List three things people may not know about you.<\/B>

    • I went back to school at UNO thanks to the benefits provided by UNMC. Not sure which direction I will take but I’m loving the classes.
      \n
    • I organized my husband’s 100th consecutive year family reunion. More than 300 people attended from all over the United States and normally there are around 100 people, so the reunion was a huge success.
      \n
    • My husband and I are the chairpersons for the 52nd Iowa State Square and Round Dance Convention in 2014 to be held at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs. I still enjoy square and round dancing despite a severe car accident that left me partially disabled. I also cue rounds. Cueing rounds means that I am the one on the microphone giving dance instructions to the dancers on the dance floor.<\/UL><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
