        Ward Chambers, M.D.,<\/B> executive director of UNMC’s International Health and Medical Education program, presented certificates to four Russian medical students from Moscow who completed one-month observerships as part of a student exchange program with Russia State Medical University. The students were:

        • Elena Kostomarova;
          \n
        • Aminat Tazartukova;
          \n
        • Andrew Bolotov;<\/B> and
          \n
        • Irina Vorontsova.<\/B><\/UL>
          \nUNMC students, Andrew Klutman<\/B> and Tyler Ptacek,<\/B> now graduates, spent February in Moscow through the same program.<\/p>\n

          Mary Filipi, Ph.D.,<\/B> of the UNMC College of Nursing, received the Robert M. Herndon Award for the 2010 outstanding article in the International Journal of Multiple Sclerosis Care for “Impact of Resistance Training on Balance and Gait in Multiple Sclerosis.” <\/p>\n

          Catherine Bevil, Ed.D.,<\/B> of the UNMC College of Nursing, has been selected to serve nationally as a Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education evaluator. She will be part of review teams that visit schools of nursing. The commission ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate and residency programs in nursing.<\/p>\n

          Janet Cuddigan, Ph.D.,<\/B> of the UNMC College of Nursing, will be inducted in October as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. Selection as a fellow signifies that the person’s work has had significant impact on health and health policy at a national level.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
