The talk, chosen by residents of north Omaha as part of a community learning forum series, will feature Thelma Patrick, Ph.D., a registered nurse and professor in the College of Nursing at Ohio State University. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">The forum will be held Monday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 7:30 p.m<\/span>. at<span style=\"color: black\"> Christ Child North Center, 2111 Emmet St. <\/span><span style=\"color: black\">Participants will enjoy food, share ideas and initiate action to help grow healthy families. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">The forums &ndash; also planned for February and April &ndash; are one facet of a UNMC research\/outreach project to support healthy African American pregnancies. In addition to the forums, the Connections Project also provides peer pregnancy support and trains community health advocacy leaders. The project is funded by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and private donors.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">The evening&rsquo;s schedule is as follows:<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">5-5:30 p.m. &ndash; Free dinner (must RSVP by Nov. 10)<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">5:30-6:45 p.m. &#8211; Introductions and Dr. Patrick&rsquo;s talk <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">6:45-7:30 p.m. &#8211; Community activity development (community members will work together to decide on a task to help families). <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">Space is limited.
