The primary sponsors of each bill are: <\/p>\n<p><TABLE border=\"0\" width=\"250\" cellspacing=\"10\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/CancerCampus112.jpg\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\" alt=\"picture disc.\"><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:7pt; line-height:150%;\">An artist&#8217;s rendering of a comprehensive cancer center that would be built on UNMC&#8217;s Omaha campus thanks to the support of the University of Nebraska&#8217;s &#8220;Building a Healthier Nebraska&#8221; initiative.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE><br \/>\n<UL><LI><B>Sen. Galen Hadley<\/B> of Kearney who sponsored LB 1055, which will support construction of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2012\/01\/19\/facility-would-let-unmc-expand-central-nebraska-presence\/\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">an expanded facility for health sciences education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney<\/a>;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Sen. Tony Fulton<\/B> of Lincoln who sponsored LB 1065, which will support construction of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2012\/01\/18\/plans-unveiled-for-new-cancer-center\/\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">new facility for the College of Nursing-Lincoln Division<\/a>;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Sen. Tom Hansen<\/B> of North Platte, who sponsored LB 1066, which will support construction of a new veterinary diagnostic center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln&#8217;s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources; and<br \/>\n<LI><B>Sen. John Nelson<\/B> of Omaha, who sponsored LB 1089, which will support the construction of a research tower that will be part of a proposed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2012\/01\/18\/plans-unveiled-for-new-cancer-center\/\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">comprehensive cancer center<\/a> on the UNMC campus in Omaha. <\/UL> <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are extremely grateful to these dedicated lawmakers who have put their support behind an initiative that has unlimited benefits to Nebraskans and people throughout the world,&#8221; said UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D. &#8220;Their support will be absolutely vital to the success of this project.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>In addition to Sen. Nelson, Sen. Hadley and 13 others senators co-sponsored the LB 1089 &#8212; which requests funds for the research tower construction. The bill&#8217;s other sponsors were:<br \/>\n<UL><LI><B>Kathy Campbell<\/B> of Lincoln;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Tanya Cook<\/B> of Omaha;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Abbie Cornett<\/B> of Bellevue;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Brenda Council<\/B> of Omaha;<br \/>\n<LI><B>John Harms<\/B> of Scottsbluff;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Burke Harr<\/B> of Omaha;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Gwen Howard<\/B> of Omaha;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Bob Krist<\/B> of Omaha;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Paul Lambert<\/B> of Plattsmouth;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Steve Lathrop<\/B> of Omaha;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Amanda McGill<\/B> of Lincoln;<br \/>\n<LI><B>Jeremy Nordquist<\/B> of Omaha; and<br \/>\n<LI><B>Norman Wallman<\/B> of Cortland.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The support indicated by these senators for LB 1089 is most appreciated,&#8221; said Bob Bartee, vice chancellor for external
