Five also were elected to the board of the association. The award recipients were:<br \/>\n<UL><LI><B>Lindsey Manzel<\/B> was selected as the 2012 Nebraska State Student Nurse of the Year. Manzel, a student on the Omaha campus, received a $500 scholarship sponsored by US Bank.<br \/>\n<LI>The College of Nursing West Nebraska Division in Scottsbluff received the NSSNA Chapter Community Health Award for development of an HIV testing clinic by students <B>Jannene Zobel, Jennifer Prime, Jenna Propp, Christine Newell<\/B> and <B>Andrew Talbert. <\/B><br \/>\n<LI>The West Nebraska Division also received the Most Unique Community Service Project as students <B>Rachel Gregory-Sachs, Diedre Artz, Jocelyn Jordan<\/B> and <B>Ashley Thies<\/B>, received the award for their LifeLink Health Promotion project.<br \/>\n<LI>The Individual Community Service Award went to UNMC College of Nursing West Nebraska Division student <B>Andrew Talbert<\/B> for his role in the Hoop Shoot at the Elks Club for fourth, fifth and sixth grade students.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>New NSSNA board members also were chosen. Five of 12 positions are held by the following UNMC students:<br \/>\n<UL><LI>President &#8212; <B>Brenna Clyncke<\/B> of the West Nebraska Division<br \/>\n<LI>First vice president &#8212; <B>Nicholas Singer<\/B> of the West Nebraska Division<br \/>\n<LI>Treasurer &#8212; <B>Laura Gillall<\/B> of the West Nebraska Division<br \/>\n<LI>Breakthrough chairs &#8212; <B>Jaclyn Neve<\/B> of the Northern Division in Norfolk; and <B>Justin Boutwell<\/B> of the Kearney Division.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>The public is invited to the <B>&#8220;TB Advocacy Round Table discussion&#8221;<\/B> on Thursday, March 29 at noon in the Maurer Center for Public Health, Room 2001. Box lunches will be provided for the first 50 registrants.
