{"id":40749,"date":"2012-07-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-11T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2012\/07\/11\/an-evening-look-at-the-gritty-city\/"},"modified":"2012-07-11T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-07-11T05:00:00","slug":"an-evening-look-at-the-gritty-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2012\/07\/11\/an-evening-look-at-the-gritty-city\/","title":{"rendered":"An evening look at the &#8216;Gritty City&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>For those who weren&#8217;t able to make the recent daytime version of &#8220;The Gritty City Tour,&#8221; Ollie the Trolley will be back on campus on Thursday, July 26 to take you on an evening trek to some of Omaha&#8217;s more provocative historical sites. <\/p>\n<p>The Durham Museum invites The Nebraska Medical Center and UNMC students and employees on a trolley tour through downtown Omaha to view and learn about several sites, including:<br \/>\n<UL><LI>The former home of Madame Anna Wilson;<br \/>\n<LI>The Brandeis Building; and<br \/>\n<LI>The Paxton Hotel.<\/UL><\/p>\n<p>The tour also will highlight the impact of noted individuals and events in our city&#8217;s sometimes turbulent history.<\/p>\n<p><B>When:<\/B> Thursday, July 26 at 5:30 p.m. The tour lasts about 75 minutes. <\/p>\n<p><B>Where:<\/B> The tour starts just outside the Durham Research Center on Durham Research Plaza. Please arrive 15 minutes early. <\/p>\n<p><B>Registration:<\/B> The tour costs $5 and seating is limited. Reservations must be made in advance. Contact <a href=\"mailto:unmcevents@unmc.edu\">unmcevents@unmc.edu<\/a> to reserve your space. The tour is for employees and students of The Nebraska Medical Center and UNMC &#8212; spouses and guests will be accommodated only if space permits.<\/p>\n<div style=\"display: none;\"><a
