She currently is chair of the college&rsquo;s Department of Family &amp; Health Systems and will continue to serve in that role.<\/p>\n<p>\n&ldquo;Dr. Grigsby is an excellent choice to move us forward in this time of transition,&rdquo; said Juliann&nbsp; Sebastian, Ph.D., dean of the college. &ldquo;I am impressed by her leadership abilities, judgment and&nbsp; ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students and throughout UNMC and our communities of interest.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>\nDr. Grigsby has served on the UNMC faculty since 1989. She earned her bachelor&rsquo;s degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 1969, her master&rsquo;s degree from the University of Colorado in 1973 and her doctorate in 1988 from the University of Texas-Austin.<\/p>\n<p>\nA national search will be conducted to fill the position.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Through world-class research and patient care, UNMC generates breakthroughs that make life better for people throughout Nebraska and beyond.
