Attendees will hear from Ann Seacrest, executive director of MilkWorks, a non-profit community breastfeeding center in Lincoln.<\/p>\n<p>\nA registered nurse and a board certified lactation consultant, Ann&#039;s interests in public health and women&#039;s health have led her to focus on infant nutrition and the lack of support for breastfeeding mothers in our culture.<\/p>\n<p>\nSeacrest is a graduate&nbsp;of the University of California at Santa Cruz and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Nursing, Lincoln division.&nbsp;She is the mother of four grown children who were all breastfed.<\/p>\n<p>\nScience Cafe is a free educational event sponsored by UNMC and other groups to increase the population&rsquo;s science literacy. Hosted by UNMC, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bionebraska.com\/\">Bio Nebraska<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskacures.com\/\">Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures<\/a>, Science Cafes are held the first Tuesday of each month in Omaha and one Thursday every other month in Lincoln.<\/p>\n<p>\nA more scientifically literate populace is a goal in UNMC&rsquo;s strategic plan.
