What requirements do you need to get accepted? What&rsquo;s the future of nursing? These and other questions will be answered Sunday, Nov. 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. during Nursing Showcase at the University of Nebraska Medical Center <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/nursing\">College of Nursing&nbsp;Center<\/a> for Nursing Science, 41<sup>st<\/sup> St. &amp; Dewey Ave.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe event is targeted towards those interested in learning about pursuing a bachelor&rsquo;s (BSN), or master&rsquo;s (MSN) degree in nursing, including high school students and their parents, college students, and current nurses. &nbsp;During Campus Showcase, nursing students, faculty and staff &nbsp;will provide expert information, answer questions and provide hands-on activities.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe college offers traditional and accelerated BSN programs in nursing in five locations: Omaha, Lincoln, Kearney, Scottsbluff and Norfolk as well as a MSN program with specialty areas in leadership and for nurse practitioners. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n&ldquo;We invite potential students to check us out, see the campus, learn about our programs, find out what&nbsp; nursing college is like and experience patient care through our state-of-the-art patient simulation labs,&rdquo; said Juliann Sebastian, Ph.D., dean of the UNMC College of Nursing.<\/p>\n<p>\nThrough various efforts, the college has expanded the numbers of students in its programs to reduce Nebraska&rsquo;s nursing shortage.<\/p>\n<p>\nParticipants also will learn about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\nHow to be a successful applicant<\/li>\n<li>\nScholarships and financial aid<\/li>\n<li>\nThe specialty areas that comprise the master&rsquo;s program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nDoors open at 1:30 p.m. for registration with the program starting at 2 p.m.&nbsp;Parking is available in the parking garage and surface parking across from the college.<\/p>\n<p>\nTo reserve a seat and for more information, contact the college at 402-559-4110 or&nbsp; <a href=\"mailto:unmcnursing@unmc.edu\">unmcnursing@unmc.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Through world-class research and patient care, UNMC generates breakthroughs that make life better for people throughout Nebraska and beyond.
