{"id":41437,"date":"2012-11-06T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-11-06T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2012\/11\/06\/wednesday-deadline-to-participate-in-adopt-a-family\/"},"modified":"2012-11-06T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-11-06T06:00:00","slug":"wednesday-deadline-to-participate-in-adopt-a-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2012\/11\/06\/wednesday-deadline-to-participate-in-adopt-a-family\/","title":{"rendered":"Wednesday deadline to participate in Adopt-A-Family"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>Those who want to participate in the Adopt-A-Family program through UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center have until Wednesday to apply.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to adopt a family, <a href=\"https:\/\/app1.unmc.edu\/PublicAffairs\/TodaySite\/images\/siteimages\/2012AdoptForm.doc\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">complete this form<\/a> <B>no later than Wednesday<\/B> to allow adequate time to match you with a family and give your department time to prepare your donation.   <\/p>\n<p>Employees are welcome to participate individually or as a department. Donations of all sizes will help our families in need. Donations can be combined with other departments to support a family if needed. <\/p>\n<p>Some things to consider:<br \/>\n<UL><LI>Please deliver your donation <B>NO LATER THAN<\/B> Friday, Dec. 14 to the 4230 Building, PR Office (Attn: Kacie Gerard).<br \/>\n<LI>Please no food deliveries this year. If you would like to assist with holiday meals, you are asked provide gift cards to allow the families to shop for food for themselves at stores of their choice.<br \/>\n<LI>Please indicate if your department would be willing, or prefer, to provide gift cards to a location(s) of the families choice to allow them to shop for themselves. Many families\/parents express the joy of shopping for Christmas for their families, where others need the assistance to obtain and wrap the items. Please indicate your preference if you have one.<br \/>\n<LI>It is helpful to indicate if your department is able to assist a smaller or a larger family.<br \/>\n<LI>Please indicate a contact person
