Milliken has named a search committee for the next chancellor of UNMC. Current Chancellor <strong>Harold M. Maurer, M.D.,<\/strong> is stepping down on June 30 to lead fundraising efforts for UNMC&#39;s cancer center project.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe 14-member search committee includes representatives of the faculty, administration, student body and private sector. The search committee will be chaired by James Linder, M.D., professor of pathology and microbiology at UNMC, senior associate to the president for innovation and competitiveness, and president of the University Technology Development Corp.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe committee will work with Isaacson, Miller, a leading executive search firm with extensive health science center experience. Isaacson, Miller has offices in Boston, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. Milliken hopes to have a permanent chancellor in place by July 1.<\/p>\n<p>\nNominations or expressions of interest in the position may be sent to consultants David Bellshaw at <a href=\"mailto:dbellshaw@imsearch.com\">dbellshaw@imsearch.com<\/a>, or Bernie Jones at <a href=\"mailto:bjones@imsearch.com\">bjones@imsearch.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\nOther&nbsp;search committee members include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<strong>Mogens Bay<\/strong>, chairman and chief executive officer, Valmont Industries Inc., and board member, The Nebraska Medical Center<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Linda Cunningham<\/strong>, human resources diversity specialist, UNMC<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Kilie Donovan<\/strong>, third-year student, UNMC College of Medicine<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Ayman El-Mohandes, M.B.B.Ch., M.D., M.P.H.,<\/strong> dean, UNMC College of Public Health<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Kevin Garvin, M.D.,<\/strong> chair of orthopaedic surgery, UNMC College of Medicine<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Patricia Hageman, Ph.D.,<\/strong> professor of physical therapy education, UNMC School of Allied Health Professions<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Gerald Luckey, M.D.,<\/strong> Butler County Clinic<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Jeffrey Payne, D.D.S.,<\/strong> F.
