Is there an artist inside of you, dying to get out?<\/p>\n

Here is your chance to find out. Employees and students of UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center are invited to register for free art classes to be held on campus this fall. Classes are offered as part of UNMC’s campus partnership with the Joslyn Art Museum, and all materials are provided. <\/p>\n

Ron Sykes will be the instructor for both classes.<\/p>\n

What: Free basic drawing classes

\nWhen: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 10 through Oct. 15
\nWhere: Alumni Commons, second floor, Sorrell Center.<\/b><\/p>\n

This class will introduce basic drawing skills and techniques to new students and hone the skills of experienced artists. Experience a variety of drawing media while learning to render proportion, value, and perspective.<\/p>\n

What: Free portrait drawing classes
\nWhen: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays on Oct. 22 and 29, and Nov. 5, 12, 19, and 26
\nWhere: Alumni Commons, second floor, Sorrell Center.<\/b><\/p>\n

Working from photographs and art reproductions, students will discover methods of drawing the face realistically. Learn the principles of classic proportion, handling features, and rendering light and shadow. <\/p>\n
