{"id":44123,"date":"2013-08-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-08-14T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2013\/08\/14\/ip-simulation-focus-of-nursing-presentation\/"},"modified":"2013-08-14T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-08-14T05:00:00","slug":"ip-simulation-focus-of-nursing-presentation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2013\/08\/14\/ip-simulation-focus-of-nursing-presentation\/","title":{"rendered":"IP simulation focus of nursing presentation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p><TABLE border=\"0\" width=\"400\" cellspacing=\"10\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Jane0813.jpg\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\" alt=\"picture disc.\"><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:0.85em;line-height:150%\">Jane Miller<\/span><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE><br \/>\nJane Miller, the director of the Academic Health Center (AHC) Simulation Center and Interprofessional Education and Resource Center (IERC) at the University of Minnesota, will deliver the sixth annual Audrey Solberg Smith Distinguished Lectureship for Teaching Excellence presentation from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 21 at the College of Nursing.<\/p>\n<p>Miller will speak on &#8220;IP (Interprofessional) Simulation &#8211; Making It Happen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Intended for registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, nursing faculty and other health care professionals who are interested in the development and implementation of interprofessional education, the lecture will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Explain the role of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education and how it interfaces with other academic health care centers.\n<li>Describe IP activities, especially simulation, that are appropriately leveled for students from multiple disciplines.<br \/>\nIdentify best practices for evaluation of clinical and teamwork outcomes in IP simulation activities.<\/p>\n<li>Describe best practice strategies for overall IPE program evaluation.\n<li>Discuss using the IPEC competencies as a basis for structuring IP activities, especially simulation.\n<li>Describe faculty engagement strategies to develop and deploy IP simulations.<\/ul>\n<p>The event is sponsored by the UNMC College of Nursing and will be held on Aug. 21, beginning with a reception from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Center for Nursing Science (CNS) atrium, 4101 Dewey Ave. The lecture will follow from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at CNS Room 3030. It also will be available via IP video to the Lincoln, Kearney, Norfolk and Scottsbluff campuses. <\/p>\n<p>Space is limited.
