\nThe Scottsbluff\/Gering United Chamber of Commerce and the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing West Nebraska Division in Scottsbluff invite the public to attend an open house Sept. 19 during a Business After Hours event sponsored by the chamber.<\/p>\n

\nUNMC recently relocated its nursing classrooms, clinic skills laboratories and staff to the Western Nebraska Community College John N. Harms Advanced Technology Center.<\/p>\n

\nThe event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in in Room B132, 1601 East 27th St. in Scottsbluff.<\/p>\n

\nMembers of the chamber will host a brief relocation ceremony between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m. UNMC faculty and students will be on hand to provide tours of its educational facilities. Refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n

\nSue Wilhelm, Ph.D., assistant dean of the UNMC College of Nursing West Nebraska Division, said the open house will give the public, as well as potential future students the chance to see what the college has to offer.<\/p>\n

\n“We are excited to expand our partnership with WNCC. We hope to expand our simulation learning experiences to include both schools as well as area hospital personnel,” Dr. Wilhelm said.<\/p>\n

\nThe college also relocated its faculty offices, a health assessment lab and a patient simulation suite moved to Regional West Medical Center. Since the mid-1990s, the college had leased space at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Institute of Agricultural and Natural Resources’ Panhandle Research and Extension Center.<\/p>\n
