The Nebraska Science Festival<\/a> will return in 2014, and organizers are aiming to expand the programming to offer greater opportunities for students of all ages.<\/p>\n

In its second year, the Nebraska Science Festival — scheduled for April 24-27, 2014 — will feature an array of science- and technology-related activities, while extending programming into Lincoln as it builds toward being a statewide celebration. <\/p>\n

Beginning today, proposals are being taken for hands-on, kid-friendly science booths and presenters at the Science Expos, as well as community sites that want to host an event for the general public. Visit the Science Festival website<\/a> for more info or to register as a booth and\/or community site. <\/p>\n

New in 2014, the free Science Expo will be open to school groups on April 24 and 25 at two different locations — the Durham Museum in downtown Omaha and the Strategic Air and Space Museum near Ashland, Neb. The Science Expo at The Durham Museum also will be open to the public on April 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. <\/p>\n

Presented by UNMC, the Nebraska Science Festival is a growing collaboration interested in the advancement of science literacy. The Science Festival is designed to make science accessible, interactive, relevant and fun for kids and adults alike. <\/p>\n

Prospective presenters can submit booth proposals — and encourage colleagues to submit proposals — via the online form<\/a> by Jan. 15 to be considered for the Expos and included in printed materials. <\/p>\n

Science Festival announcements will be made as sites and programming are confirmed. <\/p>\n
