This year&#039;s event, held at Joslyn Castle, gathered students and mentors from a range of behavioral health disciplines including psychiatry, psychology, and nursing and included students and faculty from both UNMC and Creighton University. The mentorship dinner connects students, faculty, and practitioners in an informal setting where they can ask real questions and become better acquainted with professionals in other behavioral health fields.<\/p>\n<table align=\"right\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"10\" width=\"150\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<img decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" alt=\"picture disc.\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Athena0314.jpg\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<span style=\"line-height: 150%;font-size: 0.85em\">Athena Ramos<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>\n<b>Athena Ramos<\/b>, program coordinator for the Center for Reducing Health Disparities in the College of Public Health, will direct a Spanish-language version of &quot;The Vagina Monologues,&quot; &quot;Los Monologos de La Vagina,&quot; as a benefit for Justice for Our Neighbors as part of the Valentines Day&nbsp;campaign. UNMC staffers <b>Antonia Correa<\/b> and <b>Diana Rogel Mendoza<\/b> will perform, as well as community women who are part of the college&#039;s Latinas, Tabaco, y Cancer program. The show runs March 20-21 at 7 p.m. at La Casa del Huarache, 4826 Q St., and March 22 at 6 p.m. at Guaca Maya Restaurant, 5002 S. 33rd St. Tickets are $10 before the show and $15 at the door and can be purchased online <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/los-monologos-de-la-vagina-presentado-por-v-day-south-omaha-en-espanol-tvm-2014-tickets-10713399065\">here<\/a>. <b>David Prezant, M.D.<\/b>, the co-director of the World Trade Center Health Program, will speak on &quot;WTC Attack on 9\/11 &#8212; Respiratory Illnesses and Their Predictors&quot; at noon on Friday, March 14, at the Durham Research Center auditorium. Other upcoming speakers at UNMC include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<b>Frank R. Lewis, Jr., M.D.<\/b> the executive director of the American Board of Surgery, will deliver the Paul E. Hodgson, M.D., Lectureship in Surgery at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater, Room 3010. According to the APTA, the year-long blended learning program is &quot;designed to develop. leadership skills to facilitate change, think strategically, and engage in public discourse to advance the physical therapy profession.&quot; <b>Rod Markin, M.D., Ph.D.<\/b>, chief technology officer and associate vice chancellor for business development, has been named to the board of directors of Trovagene, Inc., a developer of cell-free molecular diagnostics headquartered in San Diego. A hepatic pathologist by training and a leading authority in the field of laboratory automation, Dr. Markin will help Trovagene integrate its technology platform into clinical practice for the monitoring of cancer, based on cell-free DNA in urine. The award recognizes outstanding research-related activity completed by entry-level physical therapy students.
