A hepatic pathologist by training and a leading authority in the field of laboratory automation, Dr. Markin&nbsp; will help Trovagne integrate its technology platform into clinical practice for the monitoring of cancer, based on cell-free DNA in urine. Trovagene has U.S. and European patent applications and issued patents that cover testing for human papillomavirus (HPV) and other infectious diseases, cancer, transplantation, prenatal and genetic testing.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Julie Vose, M.D.,<\/strong> chief of hematology\/oncology division, was one of 12 Fellows in the American Society of Clinical Oncology recognized for their extraordinary volunteer service, dedication and commitment to ASCO.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>James Armitage, M.D.,<\/strong> internal medicine &ndash; hematology\/oncology, received the 2014 Special Recognition Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Patricia Hageman, Ph.D.<\/strong>, School of Allied Health Professions, has been re-appointed to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary, Community-Based Linkages (ACICBL) for 2014. Dr. Hageman contributed to the committee&rsquo;s 12th annual report, &ldquo;Redesigning Health Professions Education and Practice to Prepare the Interprofessional Team to Care for Populations.&rdquo; The committee, appointed by DHHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, tackles topics in the arena of health education, interprofessional education and practice, and population
