{"id":46543,"date":"2014-04-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-04-07T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/04\/07\/caregiving-is-focus-of-april-olson-center-luncheon\/"},"modified":"2022-08-29T14:43:11","modified_gmt":"2022-08-29T19:43:11","slug":"caregiving-is-focus-of-april-olson-center-luncheon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/04\/07\/caregiving-is-focus-of-april-olson-center-luncheon\/","title":{"rendered":"Caregiving is focus of April Olson Center luncheon"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>Caregiving roles and demands will be the focus of the next Olson Center brown bag luncheon event, to be held from noon to 1 p.m. on April 15 in the UNMC Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.<\/p>\n<p>There are 44 million Americans providing care for an adult over the age of 50, and caregiving roles and demands are influenced by many factors &#8212; and can have positive and negative consequences.  <\/p>\n<p>In her presentation, &#8220;Caregiving: Truths and Consequences,&#8221; Barb Bayer of the UNMC Department of Psychiatry will examine informal (unpaid) caregiving and provide information to assist caregivers to meet the challenges of balancing multiple roles. <\/p>\n<p>Seating is limited; please pre-register by calling the Olson Center at 402-559-6345.  Bring your lunch. Simple refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>The lectures are free, but nursing credit can be obtained for a fee of $10. Payment instructions will be given during preregistration.  <\/p>\n<p>The UNMC College of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center&#8217;s Commission on Accreditation.
